While there
is no official title “Insurance Claims Professional” that is what I call myself.
I have
handled all first and third party personal and commercial property claims
including material damage, and spent ten years (10) as a Workers Compensation
Hearing Representative. I attended and
conducted numerous trials and depositions and appeared before Workers
Compensation Judges in all the Southern California Workers Compensation Boards. I managed and or supervised many employees
and was one of the first Telecommuters.
Having
worked on so many different types of Insurance Claims, and resolving just about
every claim situation from a stolen bike to a death claim, I have an extensive
understanding of not only the claim, but ways in which to prevent them from
happening. Investigating a death claim
where an electrician was electrocuted and then sitting down with his family to
explain what happened is education beyond the text book. Trying to determine the liability of a head
on collision that killed eight senior citizens gives unprecedented insight into
case resolution. Resolving multiple
losses involving homes that have slid down “Blue Bird Canyon” in California
caused by Third Party Negligence and Construction Defects demonstrates the need
to not only understand Geotechnical Engineers but keep them in check.
I sincerely believe that I have made a difference in the lives of many people that have been involved in accidents. I have trained many adjusters to handle each claim as if it were their only claim and not to generalize about the person or company making the claim. Each claim or situation demands the utmost “Ethics” and responsibility on the part of the Insurance employee.
