Letter of Recommendation for Jeff Weiss
To Whom It May Concern
When an organization is looking to fill an important position within the organization it is important
to find not only one who has the technical expertise, but more importantly to find one who is
intellectually curious, motivated and a person who asks whether or not there is a “better way to
build a mousetrap”.
Being one who has thus far had a good career in the insurance/risk management field for 20
years, I look back at those who could be considered mentors. Mr. Weiss was my first manager
at SAFECO Insurance in 1990 when I was fresh from graduating from CSU Long Beach and
taking my first stab at claims adjusting. His leadership, insight and knowledge provided me the
foundation from which my career has been built.
Over the years I have kept in touch with Mr. Weiss and often seen him at professional
development seminars and workshops which is a testament to his continuing desire to remain
intellectually curious, motivated and a person who asks whether or not there is a “better way to
build a mousetrap”.
Jeff Weiss would be a fine addition to Fresno State University and to the CSU system as whole.
